Other beginner rays beside motoros?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Scratch that, I dont think Im getting a leopoldi.

So, its either, flower, tiger, spotted, or yepezi. I just cant decide, as these will be my FIRST rays.

Im definately getting a common motoro, and a marble motoro. I just want something that can go well with them that is relatively the same in care/feeding.

Yepezi or any of the peruvian Motoro morphs.

Many of the others are sensitive, or atleast that is what the general public seems to think. I would have to say it has more to do with quality of exporter/importer/vendor. I just think Motoros have more 'room for error' than others.

Don't throw away your money, though.

Probably going to get a Yepezi, really, really good prices I have found on them. Do you think a yepezi would interbreed with motoros? I meen, they are in the Potamotrygon family.

I'm thinking it would be best to get a Male motoro and two female yepezi?

Yeah, it is quite a bit of cash, but its worth it to keep such an awesome animal.

But in the 180 Im just going to have the black arowana, male motoro and female leopoldi.

I'm probably going to get the rays from Aquascapeoneline.com because the motoros are 125 and the leopoldi are 300.

As far as rays go, in the 375.. I'm going to get a marble motoro to go along with the leo and common motoro.

Aquascape hasn't had leopoldi in awhile I believe. If you can find one more $1000 you will be lucky. :nilly:

Yeah, black arowanas have been out of stock from them aswell, I will probably order from somewere else as they are out of Yepezi aswell.

So I made of my mind 180: Black aro, male motoro, female yepezi.

375: Black aro, two silver aros, male motoro, two female yepezi.

stay away from the flower and the tigers. While they arnt as difficult as some say, they still are no beginner ray.

You cant get a leo for $300 anymore sadly, you need to add a 1 to the front of that number and youd be about right. Otherwise i would say go for a leo as they are quiet hardy.

I dont know much about the yepezi rays, although Im guessing so long as they are healthy when you get them they should do fine.

And yes, they can interbreed, however its not likely, nor do I promote it.

And good luck :) I love rays, and love to see other people getting started with them

Hah, Are you selling them in pairs? Or do you have this info listed in your forum?

Go in the top of the stingray area. In the sticky. There is a profile of the histrix

The profile only states size and that coloration varies.

I was just wondering if you had any for sale at the moment, If so I am interested in a pair.

I have one. But at this time. I really dont know if I want to sell him. I will let ya know if Ill sell. But if you can find any. Grab them. Great rays!!!
