Peacock Bass Help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You know I never had real results with fish getting all tizzy over Garlic Guard. They will eat food that is soaked in it. Originally one of my pbass (the picky one) spit it out.
Ordering Ich-X, Freeze Dried Krill, Stress Guard, General Cure, Para Guard, Garlic Guard, and Vita Chem. Is there anything I don’t need or some things I don’t have that I need

I stocked a med kit basically like you described above. I have a few more types of meds because I'm paranoid about fish getting a disease and me not being ready.
Personally I keep a couple containers of non-iodized salt on hand because it's easier than going to the grocery store. I'm sort of a fanatic. If you can get meds at a LFS and salt at the grocery store you don't need to store it.
Salt is good for wounds, ich and some diseases.
On the food and vitamin side I think you are fine. When things are back in order you of course want to get the fish eating pellets or sticks. In the interim you can use the VitaChem when they have a good appetite. I do feed all my fish some food with Garlic Guard about once a week. I have ready some good things about this in terms of hole in the head disease.
How is the little guy doing?

So should I put the order in? I have the salt and it’s cheaper to order everything off amazon so I won’t be buying anything from my LFS. Plus, they don’t keep a good supply of meds.

The same as last update. Hasn’t eaten yet so we’ll see. Will probably do another WC tonight

Use your best judgement. I don't know your financial situation. I tend to spend $$bucks on my fish. I don't trust my LFS for anything and I am an Amazon fiend. Definitely think the VitaChem is good. Try it out. Buy a smaller thing of krill. See how it works. I got the tetra brand.
I also purchased general cure. Bought a lot on ebay for good price. I have no room and wife will not go for a hospital tank. So when I buy this stuff I am preparing to dose a large tank.
All I can tell you is that many on the forum keep some meds stocked. You could save some money on the ICH-X as I think salt is the way to go for ich.
On the stressguard I am also a big believer. Don't see many others saying they use it. Like I say. I spend $$ on fish.

Only thing I will add is 2 things.
1. I have plants. My bass love to sit behind them when they feel like it. Seems to calm them down. I have live plants but I think fake are ok. Many many bass keepers don't believe in plants because they take up space. And maybe it's because my bass are young but that's what I do.
2. Don't go out and buy a fish now. Heck you only have a 75gal! But I think some other fish may help. Pbass do look at what other fish do. Especially other bass. I just think another fish, especially a bass helps them start eating pellets and stuff. If it happens that this guy doesn't make it, you may want to consider this if you buy more bass. Just make sure you have a big tank!

Currently, I have been trying to upgrade but financially it is an issue. Also have been thinking about an outdoor pond but that is also an issue because I live in the east and it gets very cold in the winters.
This is for 75 gallons of water?
yes
