Let me know if the gar needs a different home. I'll take him. I'm in aurora.

More on topic: I saw a big pickerel in the wild yesterday hanging around with a largemouth a little shorter than he was and a number of bluegill, shiners, top minnows, etc. Maybe the biggest pickerel I've seen..10-11", but thick..two inches+ from his back to his belly I would estimate.

Really that's dope! Where were you? And I'm going to get him soon. Plan on keeping it but if anything changes I'll let you know.

Pickerel are strange creatures like that lol, they eat half of the fish they school with sometimes. I've seen that behavior in wild pickerel as well were I collect them.

I have one that I know will eat non live food. It's the others that won't at the moment. Btw I have one grass pickerel and it just ate my Redfin that is just a tad smaller.

Seriously? How big were they?
Also at first they weren't interested in it but whenever I feed them they swim up to the net when I release the fish. So I put the net there and tossed the pieces rite in front of them. And they striked

Grass pickerel is about 5 to 6 inches the Redfin is just a tad smaller. I know they'll eat anything they possibly can but the size difference with the two I didn't think it would happen and hasn't been a problem to this point.

That's crazy. My two love eachother they're always together. I'm trying to figure out their sex. They look different ones snout is longer with longer fins and there's more little things that set them apart. I think one a male and the others a female. They're always together and one is always on top of the other when they're just hovering. They seem like love birds. I hope I can get them to breed!
