mines at the 21" mark currently I believe. This one didn't grow for like the first 4 months I had him then one day I came back from military training and he was like 15" long lol.

well they do eat grass shrimp in a large chunk of the country so maybe they just think there extra large 
Hey guys wanted some more input. A friend of mine has a spotted gar he can't keep anymore. It's only 6 inches. Do you guys think I'd be able to keep it with the pick's temporally while it grows out more?
it's possible, but not until you know what species it is....post Pics if you can't figure it out - we will do our best
Ya if its either a spotted or a florida gar they'll be fine with pickerels, same temperament really. Issue being both species will get pretty big so keep that in mind for the future. I cant remember what size you said these pickerel were staying in.
It's a spotted gar. And like I said it would be temporary. The picks are around 9 inch and growing. Would only keep the gar in there until he gets to be a few inches longer. I just don't want to set up another tank till I have to.
The Gars around 6-7 inch the picks are about 8-9 inch
