wow
more replies than I thought haha
Good to see different opinions. I understand this from both points of view, but I am still one to think they should not be fired, but hopefully some good will come of this and they will be hired elsewhere :)

Good, now they can work at some better LFS instead of rotting and wasting their talents at Walmart.

Working security almost anywhere can be a legitimate career.

That's nuts! They should get a medal, but no in todays society they get fired. This country's on a down hill spiral. So the message they send is if you need somthing go take what you want, nobody's allowed to stop you. After all we wouldn't want to offend anybody would we?

Common sense is becoming very uncommon.

The police were outside.

"The four believe their quick actions to disarm and secure the man helped prevent what could have been a tragic event. They held the man until a police officer arrived, who wrote in his report that the gunman was taken to the ground in his and citizens' "best interest and safety." "

They didn't know police were out side, that being said even if they did it wouldn't change the situation they were faced with right then and there. I still feel they should get a medal not fired. I could understand Wal-Mart not wanting employees thinking they should put there lives on the line that's compleatly understandable. To fire these people for taking action and disarming a gunman when they were in life threating situation is reprehensable at that point it's no longer about Wal-Mart it's about servival. If you've ever been to war you understand once the bullets start flying your not fighting for your country your fighting to stay alive.

But I'm not debating that they didn't do the right thing - they did- it's just that you saying "So the message they send is if you need somthing go take what you want, nobody's allowed to stop you," is untrue to me, because he was not going to get away with it.
