I really had never considered Oscars aggressive since I had raised a load of other cichlids over the years that are more aggressive species. But in talking with someone who raised wild oscars, he warned me to expect it.
I thought the tetras would be enough of dithers to spread the hurt but the oscars nipped at them at first and now just swim around with them, lol. So time to decide to either rehome one now and raise the other solo or maybe get a few tiger Oscars from Petsmart to add as dithers...
This does have me wondering if these will be “typical” oscars as adults who can get along in a community or Im just postponing the inevitable which will be to rehome because the oscar will be too aggressive with the Pearsei. Time will tell.
