There’s thousands of fish that pose a threat. There are no innocent or evil fish. They just do what they’re evolved to do and bichirs are mellow as far as predators go.

Exactly, and that's one of the very reasons several of them make the list of my least favorites. The multiple accounts of bichirs eating clown loaches and pictus catfish don't help ether.
Technically not. But you get what I mean, surely.
Nonetheless, doing what they do makes them wholly unsuitable for my tanks. Even ignoring that, they're much too drab for my taste.
So anything unsuitable for your tanks are bad and you dislike them? How about just getting fish that you are interested in and are suitable without humanizing and classifying fish as innocent or bad?
The unsuitability of them for my tanks is indeed one of the reasons I don't like them. .

Those were metaphorical. Aquarium fish obviously aren't people, nor are they literally innocent/evil.

I think a gulper would be interesting for a month lol then get boring
It would be cool to have a gulper, but yeah I can see that getting old fast. Really with any ambush predator, but at least others like wolves do stuff.
Chinese algae eater mean things that do nothing and take up space. Plus they suck off slime coats no idea why they are labeled algae eaters.
I agree, that’s why I went with a gold. It’s very active. Everything I read said golds aren’t as mean as the other bigger types, but that’s not the case with mine so far.
