yeah he's very very shy and skittish, not out going as the female. But they've become more comfortable since I brought them home so I've actually been able to get some good pictures. It looks like a male to me cuz of the plating.IMG_9845.JPG IMG_9846.JPG

Don't add dithers. Assuming you keep these fish for many years they will definitely fill up a 75 gallon.

My vote is now for sure a male/female pair. I agree for the most part with ehh about the no dither, though a few giant danios could help them to be less skiddish and give them a fish to focus on of they start to breed (something I read a while back when my jewels started spawning, don't know if it has any real merit).

yeah I think im gonna add some giant danios just 6 since theyre really fast. the jds are really really shy although now they are starting to come out a bit, they are still hiding pretty much the entire day. If they start becoming overly aggressive towards the danios ill remove them

I've added in 3 giant danios for now as the guy at my lfs said larger schooling fish are usually good in 3 and smaller fish need to be in groups of 6. Anyways, they're really really active but they haven't seemed to make a difference to the jds. Only for the first 20 mins of the danios being in there, the jd's were interested but they just been in their hiding spots after that. My jd's seem like some nocturnal fish, at night I turn all the lights off and watch them with a flashlight and they're really active the male actually tried to chase the danios last night lol
