Just found my 4" Florida Gar floating on top of the tank. Looks like a swim bladder problem since it can't swim down at all. Just did a 30% water change. Tank is at 80F. What do I do? He looks so lifeless. I don't want to lose the lil guy.

Would reduce the water level. Add some Epsom salt at 1 tbsp per 5g and maracyn2. Keep the water pristine. Update as it goes. Best of luck.

In case it makes it. Not sure as it wasn’t mentioned. Could be from trauma. Link below to help with sizing ur gar to tank size.

Thanks for the reply, but sadly he died this morning. The water was pristine, 0 amm, 0 nitrite, <10 nitrate. He had stringy white poo when it died so it must've been an internal parasite. Was most likely already sick when I got it 4 days ago. Had him in a 30 gal filled half way because of that thread actually. Did my most research/preparation for this fish but I guess.
