Yeah I figured I don’t need anything more advanced in this application. I guess you could argue that you’d want a diagonal flow to force water through all the media but if I fill the whole space with media it will work out good enough ?
And by rerouting a certain amount of water through the filtration for a second pass it will flow enough I assume it will work out together will the roll filter.
The last wall is under construction. Hopefully done on Tuesday, painted and ready. The door will be mounted at that time as well.
I started to build up some BB in a plastic tote by using 2 x sponge filter and ordered a HOB so when the first fish arrive I will have something to seed with. Hopefully 2 large sponges and ca 3/4 gallons of matrix will be enough for seeding.
I’m aiming for late October or early November with 1 Arowana and 2 stingrays, potentially a day as well.
Nothing finalized in the build as of this moment so I´m spending some time ordering/planning the rest.
I´ll go and pick up some steel for an additional rack tomorrow and have a friend welding it together for a double stand.
I´ve also drawn a setup for lighting the large tank with cheapo LED strips with dimmer and timer. I can just change out the lights later on and keep the floating hood. I´ll cover the stand with antracite IKEA kitchen stuff and figured I might use that for the hood as well.
Look what showed up from far far away ?
The backgrounds from AquaDecor. Hopefully everything arrived since customs sent my packages all over town and I received the notices after the end date so they were basically on their way back to Serbia when I picked them up.
I unpacked the first box and my ****ing God it looks stunning!
I asked for a background for the small tank which could go for both rocks (rift tank style) and muddy (river bank style) and they didn’t disappoint!
I also found 2 logs which I don’t know if they belong to the amazon background or if they sent extra. I will show in due time ?
Of course the pics don’t make the backgrounds justice due to cell phone camera and I didn’t want to remove the plastic fully due to numbering of the pieces. I recon I might need those numbers later on ?
