Any pics of the firecon?
Convicts are pretty easy to tell gender - not sure how well that translates into hybrids though.
Many cons do have a lot of blue in them so that’s where I’d guess the blue comes from.

Definitely male and the JD literally just let that little guy take the 8” terracotta from her she struts her stuff it was weird so I vented. I figured if it was a male and male Firecon would be no more but he’s more then ok and cute ? as can be!!!

Also I went back to the pet store and I got 4 more BA tetras making it a total of 8 a clown loach 2 panda rufa and then the hybrid with the JD and I don’t know if I mentioned anything about this I vented fish and it’s a for sure 100% female my eyes saw it!!!

You may find that 2 male cichlids in the tank can be trouble, and also that convicts (hybrid or not) tend to be more aggressive than JDs. Hopefully the JD and firemouth/convict can live peacefully, but I would keep an eye on it, especially since they are in a bit of an undersized tank at the moment. I wouldn;t add more fish for now, definitely not more cichlids.

The hybrid’s a female? Just to clarify?

Hybrid is actually male…… I vented my JD it’s a She not a he it has the triangle shape kinda right by her anal papillon or idk ?‍ the exact word but from what I read and saw and then saw mine. Well the JD has a female vent the hybrid is definitely a male!!!

I also put in 8 BA tetras I have already lost 1 just today she didn’t eat it but I took it out before it died and I think she’s looking for it but for some reason extremely ok with the hybrid Firecon!! LOL ?

Well I read 3 articles that says just the opposite and then there’s just more blue color appears randomly….. so I gave it the name Jessie either way gender neutral I vented it 3 times LOL ? I couldn’t figure it out I was shaking photos are bad here take a look 2/3 breeders say female ?‍ nor to I trust my source I come here for the Facts!!!
Keep in mind that I am shaking like a leaf on a tree in a storm and then I am taking the photos as well!! I have never done but with lil 3” African cichlids!!!! So keep in mind I am shaking there’s a pink spot right next to the white one and honestly the shape of it idk ?‍ man !!!! I have struggled with this and then given up!! So yea …. She killed a BA tetra btw but did not eat it
