Oh no... It seems his pelvic nd anal fins are jagged may be fin rott or deterioration? what do I do......

Help

Salt is 1 tsp per gallon
Epsom salt is 1 tbsp per 5g.

The bag of epsom is fine.

If you got the abx. Can add now and check ur water numbers daily. Keep in the new tank/qt tank.

Is the end still floating? Is it worse?

Post pics when able.

Sorry that the polys was beat up but i think it will heal up on its own. I would follow what the other members suggested though mainly the epsom salt.

Have you tested the water if so what are the parameters ?

I recently had the same thing happen to my koloton a few days ago. Increased water changes and reduced feedings to keep the water pristine.20170627_225842.jpg 20170627_225626.jpg

Hey guys went to sleep last night.. today i just did a 70 percent water change and happily he doesn't have the weird floating/ tail curled up problem. He seems normal. However, he has fin rot... I am treating with water change and a little salt....

will this work?

so the ripped area on your koloton's body was aggression and not fin rot? also mine seemed to develop fin rot so what medication/ methods should I use?

Hey guys I was checking online and found a hydrogen peroxide method for bettas where you dab small amounts of hydrogen peroxide with q tip onto the areas on the fins with the rot. Would this method work for my bichir? also, many online people said to use melafix? is this reliable and does this color up the water? also if i am to apply melafix, how often would use it and how much? This is for those who used it before because I don't want to just buy it and overdose my fish..

thxs and also for bichirs i know they are very hardy creatures, If I just use aquarium salt and daily water changes, would this cure him. Also should I feed him at all? he seems a bit skinny and also I don't want him to be weak and die. Finally a good news is that he used to have heavy red inflammation on his belly and now 90% has disappeared after water change...
