Help Bichir sick :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Test kit is not a waste of money its probably the most important tool you can have in the hobby. Poor water quality can cause fin rot.

To me it doesnt look like rot though

why doesn't it look like rot to you, the fin is jagged and part of his front flappers (don't know what their called lol) are half whitish and at edges seem to have a string like texture.

but is it fin rot or attack cause i believe that it was complete and not jagged the night before...

also he is refusing shrimp pieces soaked in garlic so idk what to do

The poly will be fine without food . Focus on keeping the water clean and be patient.

The food can wait like tlindsey tlindsey mentioned. Stressed out fish will do this. For polys this is common.

Big thing is to wait. Adding food will make ur water poor in regards to quality. This will also add to the stress.

More important get on the water checks. This has to be pristine. This and salt will heal and get polypterus back to their normal state.
