Murphy seems to develop back problems.

Polypterus Missing Finlets

During a closer look through todays feeding video, i noticed something an took a closer look ( frame by frame ^^ ). Is it just me oris there growing something? ? And i am pretty shure that there is at least a fourth finlet growing:

He sure is a cool little guy. It's good that you're giving him such a varied diet. It looks like he eats like a champ! He seems to like all that different food you feed him. I think he will grow like a weed with all that nutrition and variety. He will be a beefcake in no time. Very cool.

Thanks Cich Mind Cich Mind !

Yes, he (or she) is growing very well (except of the little back issue). Estimated he has already doubled his size to ~7" .
I hope the varied died provides everything Murphy needs. To go shure, i managed to get some NLS also. He isn't interested in it yep, but i think thar won't take long^^
 
As the first step of training Murphy to hand feeding, i first tryed to feed it with feeding tweezers today.
It worked immediately !!! :headbang2


Next steps will be:
  • Moving the tweezers step by step towards the surface, so that Murphy gets used to surface feeding.
  • Surface feeding by hand (which will hopefully work)

I will keep you updated.
 
Nice fish!! I just got two Teugelsi in the states from aquariumfishsale.com. Never bought from this company before. Listed as 3", but were only maybe 1.5" like yours when you first got it. I'm bummed bc i wasn't planning a grow out tank, but it is nice to see that yours has grown quickly, so hopefully mine will too!! Good luck!!
