The Official Wolfmans tank thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 10 gallon I could set up, I really wasn’t planning on this happening.. I have a breeder box I’m setting up now I’m not looking to pull the fry from the tank yet. I’m sure their super delicate. I just hope I can get the fry eating and raise a few up. I really have no freaking clue what to do so I’m going to wing it lol.

I searched the threads and found this.
Peacock bass breeding help
It appears that Tony is still active. Claims to breed them all the time. He is in the UK. His video shows them breeding/ rearing eggs.
Biggest thing is the fry eating I would think. But what do you feed them?

Update A good amount the fry have been eaten and the parents seem to have abandoned them, so I pulled the fry and put them in their own tank with a sponge filter. I syphoned the fry right into the tank. Still not sure what to feed them once the egg sack is all absorbed, I picked up some first bites fry food but thinking they might need live baby brine. I also realized I didn’t actually update on the fish so I took a few pictures.. Bass are all 12” and Hoover is now 14”. Fry doing good today a few casualties but starting to swim a bit and are getting noticeably bigger. I also did a small water change just to make sure water stays clean. Papa was looking like flowerhoover today.

Thanks for the kind word guys. The fry are still doing well. Most of them are free swimming allready but still have their yoke sack. I made a baby brine shrimp hatchery today, and have started with the egg culture. I should have some live food for them to eat when their ready to start eating. Some pics of the fry,
