IMO it looks like just some irritation. probably rubbed a catfish or bichir spine the wrong way are rubbed against the filter intake or something. Should heal up fine but i'm no expert.

That's what I think it could be. There is no decor in the tank so it can't be from any thing like that.

Those don't look like burns to me. I agree keep the heater in a sleeve. Judging by the read areas around the cuts, I think it is septicemia.

Heater burns are generally white.

Hmmm no there is no sleeve. I did not know there were heater sleeves

Its an infection. Can be caused by a few things. Usually really not good.....antibiotics may help.
