Fish Room Build Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well of course everything failed and the moving company failed to safely move the aquariums (even though I sent a description and pictures of the job I hand) so now I have to postpone until Tuesday and change moving company.

Only progress is the lighting mounts which will be done today (after a **** load of problems with lack of fasteners even though I ordered them ??)

So this was kind of a bad day.

I will start working on the dumps now instead. More to follow!

The lighting mounts are up!
Built out of extruded aluminum it slide in all directions and are fastened with metal rods through the ceiling. It will hold everything and I’ll never have to drill for lights again and I can change lighting setup in a breeze.

Heat pump installed today. A Mitsubishi with all bells and whistles in black. Now I can keep the room almost at tank temperatures to keep evaporation down and potentially don’t have to use a dehumidifier. I will install two bath room fans to export the remaining humidity as well.

I also got confirmation from a new moving company that they will arrive on Monday. Let’s hope for the best ??

One mishap was the styrofoam on the big tank. The sheet wasent cut correctly so I need to change out 30% of it. I don’t know if it shows but it a 3-4mm gap.

While it might be visually distracting I would not worry about that small gap in the foam.
